Still typing hail-scanner figures by hand?

PDR Kalk reads dent protocols and SilverDAT calculations from a PDF — locally on your device, with a review screen before anything is applied. After that you carry on as usual: report, customer approval, insurer, invoice.

PDR Kalk – document import review screen: recognised items with a totals check

What you get out of it

Panels and dents per size band

The figures are taken from the dent protocol and checked against the totals in the document.

SilverDAT adds more

Vehicle data and VIN, parts with prices, removal/refitting items and additional costs.

Entirely local

The PDF is read on your device. Nothing goes to a server — not even ours.

Not an interface

PDR Kalk reads a PDF you already have. No contract and no access to someone else's system is needed.

Review before anything is applied

“Will be applied · To clarify · Unchanged” — you decide what ends up in the report.

More imports

Vehicle registration scan (optional AI), photos by QR code and jobs from partner workshops.

How it works

Step 1

Switch it on, pick the PDF

Enable it once under Settings → Hail, then pick the PDF. It needs a text layer — scans and photos will not work; PDR Kalk recognises the document type itself.

Step 2

Check the review screen

Plausibility checks over dent totals (≤ 25 mm, > 25 mm, > 50 mm) and panel counts, grouped as “Will be applied · To clarify · Unchanged”.

Step 3

Apply it and carry on

The figures land in the hail editor; from there it is business as usual: report, approval, invoice.

Every feature in this area

  • Hail document import — read dent protocols and SilverDAT calculations from a PDF instead of typing them — with a review screen before anything is applied.
  • Fixed price / manual in every country — independent of the tariff table, with parts, outsourced work and additional costs.
  • Money cards in the German AW list and the Belgian table — record damaged parts, outsourced work and additional costs there too; existing reports keep their figures.
  • Removal/refitting as a priced list — individual items per report, with AW, an amount or as a fixed price, shown clearly on the work report.
  • Additional costs card — test drive, cleaning and disposal as their own block, shown on the report and the invoice.
  • Removal/refitting required — record which parts the customer removes and refits — 17 common parts as a quick pick, one-off parts typed freely.
  • Your own removal/refitting rate — stored in the settings and overridable per customer in the address book.
  • Outsourced work — record bought-in paint, panel, mechanical or wrapping work with a price — its own line on the report and the estimate.
  • Damaged parts with prices — give every damaged part a price if you want to; the customer discount does not apply to parts by default.
  • Part selection L/R with a note — mark left and right per panel and attach a note.
  • Photo compression in 3 levels — choose the quality per job; EXIF data including GPS is removed.
  • Technician allocation per panel — when several technicians work on the same car, the work report shows the real split (CH and AT tariffs).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What workshops most often want to know before they buy.

  • Yes, since version 4.26.63, for Switzerland first (CH region with the Swiss tariff; switch it on under Settings → Hail). PDR Kalk reads existing PDFs that have a text layer — not scans or photos — shows a review screen and, once you approve, applies panels, dents, parts, removal/refitting and additional costs. All locally. It is not an interface to SilverDAT; it reads a PDF you already have.

  • It is off by default. If you turn it on, you photograph the vehicle registration; the holder's name and address are blacked out in the image. The redacted image then goes with your own provider key straight to the provider you chose (Infomaniak in Switzerland recommended, Mistral AI in the EU, OpenAI or Anthropic in the USA only after you explicitly confirm) — never through PDR Kalk's servers. Without activation nothing leaves the device.

  • 100 % locally on your device or in your own work folder (NAS). There is no vendor cloud and no telemetry. The internet is only needed for the trial activation, sending email and the optional AI feature.

  • Switzerland (CHF, 8.1 %, QR invoice; VFFS and Zurich mixed hail), Germany (EUR, 19 %, DATEV, ZUGFeRD; German AW list with removal/refitting), Austria (EUR, 20 %, its own matrix), Belgium (EUR, 21 %, Belgium UPEX List), Australia (AUD, GST 10 %, per panel, per vehicle, triage or hourly) and the Netherlands (EUR, 21 %, hail matrix to follow). More countries on request. PDR Kalk includes a general German AW-based calculation option; it is not connected to any association or third party.

  • 30 days with the full feature set, a direct download with no sign-up and no credit card. The trial ends by itself. On first start there is a one-off online activation (technical data only, see the privacy policy); after that the app works offline. One trial per device.
