Frequently asked questions

What workshops most often want to know before they buy.

  • It is a perpetual licence: paid once, with no expiry date and no monthly fees. The “about CHF 9 per month” figure is only an illustration spread over five years — nothing falls due afterwards.

  • CHF 550 one-time, excl. VAT. EU companies with a valid VAT ID pay EUR 580 and are invoiced without Swiss VAT (reverse charge). No setup fee, no running costs.

  • 30 days with the full feature set, a direct download with no sign-up and no credit card. The trial ends by itself. On first start there is a one-off online activation (technical data only, see the privacy policy); after that the app works offline. One trial per device.

  • Through the “Order a licence” form. The order is binding; you usually receive the invoice by email within 24 hours, payable by bank transfer within 14 days — no credit card needed. Once payment arrives you receive your licence details and unlock PDR Kalk with them.

  • Minor updates are included. Optional insurance or tariff list updates may incur a small fee. What is new is shown under “What's new” in the app and on the updates page of this website.

  • Windows 10 and 11 (PC, laptop or Windows tablet from 10 inches) and Android tablets from Android 10. Apple devices and smartphones are not supported; a phone only supplies photos to the job via QR code.

  • Yes. Windows devices sync through a shared work folder (NAS, OneDrive, Synology Drive). Android tablets run standalone with the full feature set. Settings → Storage shows when the other devices were last active.

  • Unlimited users per licence and no cost per technician. Technicians can be assigned per panel. Subcontractors and partner workshops work in their own installation and therefore need their own licence.

  • 100 % locally on your device or in your own work folder (NAS). There is no vendor cloud and no telemetry. The internet is only needed for the trial activation, sending email and the optional AI feature.

  • With a full backup as a ZIP, with or without photos. The smart restore merges rather than duplicates. Each job also has a job package ZIP containing all of its documents.

  • Every change is recorded in a SHA-256 hash chain; document versions and PDF snapshots are created automatically on every status change. The audit trail can be exported as JSON and verified. Built to GDPR and revFADP.

  • It is off by default. If you turn it on, you photograph the vehicle registration; the holder's name and address are blacked out in the image. The redacted image then goes with your own provider key straight to the provider you chose (Infomaniak in Switzerland recommended, Mistral AI in the EU, OpenAI or Anthropic in the USA only after you explicitly confirm) — never through PDR Kalk's servers. Without activation nothing leaves the device.

  • Yes, for Switzerland first (CH region with the Swiss tariff; switch it on under Settings → Hail). PDR Kalk reads existing PDFs that have a text layer — not scans or photos — shows a review screen and, once you approve, applies panels, dents, parts, removal/refitting and additional costs. All locally. It is not an interface to SilverDAT; it reads a PDF you already have.

  • Switzerland (CHF, 8.1 %, QR invoice; VFFS and Zurich mixed hail), Germany (EUR, 19 %, DATEV, ZUGFeRD; German AW list with removal/refitting), Austria (EUR, 20 %, its own matrix), Belgium (EUR, 21 %, Belgium UPEX List), Australia (AUD, GST 10 %, per panel, per vehicle, triage or hourly) and the Netherlands (EUR, 21 %, hail matrix to follow). More countries on request. PDR Kalk includes a general German AW-based calculation option; it is not connected to any association or third party.

  • PDF invoices with your logo, the Swiss QR invoice, ZUGFeRD/Factur-X (PDF/A-3, EN 16931), credit notes, split invoices, cancellation invoices with a replacement and manual invoices without a report. Payments can be recorded including part payments; for accounting there is DATEV CSV, a VAT export and open receivables as Excel.

  • The app interface comes in 7 languages: German, French, Italian, English, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish. The document language can also be chosen freely — invoices, reports and emails go out in the customer's language, independent of the app language.

  • The app contains a searchable user manual with step-by-step guides for every area, plus demo data to try things out. We answer questions sent to info@pdrkalk.ch whenever we can, usually within 24 hours — there is no entitlement to IT support (see the terms and conditions).
